Trăng rằm tháng 8 là mùa trăng đẹp nhất trong năm!
Từ xa xưa, người Việt chúng ta đã thưởng ngoạn trăng rằm tháng 8, được gọi là Tết Trung Thu, người lớn ăn bánh, uống trà, ngắm trăng; trẻ em được bánh kẹo, rước đèn với những lồng đèn bằng giấy màu, giấy bóng kiếng, với nhiều màu sắc, hình thù khác nhau.
Ngày nay, tuy ở xứ người, nhưng chúng ta vẫn tiếp tục duy trì, vào mỗi độ trăng rằm tháng Tám, tuy ở đây không rơi vào mùa Thu, cộng đồng người Việt chúng ta, các đoàn thể tôn giáo vẫn tổ chức đêm trung thu cho giới trẻ.
Chùa Hoa Nghiêm hàng năm vẫn tổ chức Đêm Trung Thu cho các em, chúng ta có Gia đình Phật tử Chánh Đạo, Trường Tiểu học Hoa Nghiêm, Trường Việt ngữ Hoa Nghiêm, nhóm võ Vovinam, và con em của Phật tử.
Năm nay, Chùa Hoa Nghiêm chúng ta tổ chức Đêm Trung thu vào thứ 7 ngày 30 tháng 9 từ 7pm đến 9pm. Các em sẽ được phát bánh kẹo, lồng đèn, được rước đèn quanh chùa, xem múa lân, văn nghệ.
Trân trọng thân mời quý vị đưa con em đến tham dự, chung vui, thư giãn và duy trì văn hoá và truyền thống của người Việt chúng ta.

Full moon in August is the most beautiful moon of the year!
Since ancient times, we, the Vietnamese people, have enjoyed the full moon in August, known as the Mid-Autumn Festival. Adults eat cakes, drink tea, and gaze at the moon, while children savor sweet treats, parade with colorful lanterns made of paper or glass, in various shapes and colors.
Today, even though we are far from our homeland, every August full moon, though it’s not during the autumn season here, our Vietnamese community and religious organizations still organize Mid-Autumn night celebrations for the children.
Our Hoa Nghiem Buddhist Temple annually holds a Mid-Autumn Night for the kids. We have the families of devout Buddhists, Hoa Nghiem Primary School, Vietnamese Language School, Vovinam martial arts group, and the children of Buddhists.
This year, our Hoa Nghiem Buddhist Temple will hold the Mid-Autumn Night on Saturday, September 30th, from 7 pm to 9 pm. The children will receive candies, lanterns, parade around the pagoda, watch lion dances, and enjoy cultural performances.
We warmly invite you to bring your children to participate, share in the joy, and to relax while preserving the culture and traditions of our Vietnamese community.
